Recap: Northeast Academy Eagles vs. Ridgecroft Rams
The Northeast Academy Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were outmatched by Ridgecroft on the road and fell 49-14. Northeast Academy has not had much luck with Ridgecroft recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Cole Taylor was Northeast Academy's leading scorer, having posted six points.
Jake Parks held things down on the boards with six rebounds.
Among those leading the charge was Nacir Lewis, who scored 20 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Antron Gray, who scored eight points.
Northeast Academy bumped their record down to 1-11 with that loss, which was their 17th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Ridgecroft, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northeast Academy will take on Pungo Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Pungo Christian Academy is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games. As for Ridgecroft, Ridgecroft and Oakwood will face off at 7:30 p.m. on January 17th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Oakwood comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last 11 games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
