Softball Game Preview: Highland Park Scots vs. Minnehaha Academy Red Hawks

The Highland Park Scots will challenge the Minnehaha Academy Red Hawks at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Highland Park is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Wednesday, they were much more limited against Kennedy on Thursday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 12-2. The loss continues a trend for the Scots in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost six in a row.

Meanwhile, Minnehaha Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 9-2 to Visitation.

Minnehaha Academy saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eva Affeldt, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Juliette Smith also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Highland Park's loss dropped their record down to 6-8. As for Minnehaha Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-10.

Highland Park skirted past Minnehaha Academy 6-5 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Scots repeat their success, or do the Red Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
