Basketball Recap: Naches Valley Comes Up Short

Naches Valley lost against Royal back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Naches Valley Rangers were beaten by the Royal Knights 78-40. While losing is never fun, the Rangers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Knights are ranked 12th).

Naches Valley dropped their record down to 3-14 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight on the road. As for Royal, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 19-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Naches Valley will challenge Connell at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Connell has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Royal, they will take on Kiona-Benton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Royal knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past 20 contests -- so hopefully Kiona-Benton likes a good challenge.
