Soccer Recap: Bessemer City Takes a Loss

Bessemer City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their 14th straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to the Shelby Golden Lions. While losing is never fun, Bessemer City can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina soccer rankings (they are ranked 509th, while Shelby are ranked 82nd).

Bessemer City's loss dropped their record down to 0-14. As for Shelby, the win keeps they at an undefeated 18-0.

Coming up, Bessemer City will be playing at home against Highland Tech at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Bessemer City's defense better be ready for this one: Highland Tech have averaged an impressive 3.8 goals per game this season. As for Shelby, they will challenge East Gaston at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
