Volleyball Recap: Struthers Takes a Loss

Struthers lost against Hubbard back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Struthers was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Hubbard work for it, especially in the first set. The final score came out to 26-24, 25-8, 23-25, 25-19.

Gianna Martin paced Struthers' offense, picking up six kills. Martin got some help from Elliana Benson and her nine assists. Finally, Martin was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high eight blocks.

Struthers' defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Hubbard, the win got them back to even at 1-1.

Struthers wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 3-0 loss against Boardman on the 23rd. As for Hubbard, they have also already played their next match, a 3-1 defeat against Howland on the 25th.
