Preview: Omaha Central vs. North Platte

North Platte and Omaha Central take on one another this Friday at 7:00 PM on North Platte's home turf. Both teams have had a rocky road up to this point (three losses in a row), but one team's luck is about to change.

North Platte has to be hurting after the devastating 31 - 7 defeat at the hands of Kearney last game. The blowout was painful but not necessarily a surprise as Kearney is ranked 28th in the state, 87 places higher than North Platte.

As for Omaha Central, it was close but not close enough last game as it fell 18 - 15 to Bryan. The defeat came about despite Omaha Central's dynamic duo of Caden Dennis, who picked up 72 yards on the ground, and Jalen Harris, who caught passes for 106 yards and one touchdown. Harris has been the ringleader for Omaha Central this season two times now.

The losses dropped Omaha Central and North Platte to an identical 0-3. Both North Platte and Omaha Central have been struggling on the defensive side of the ball (the former allowing an average of 36 points per game, the latter an average of 45.67 points per game). We'll find out which offense can take advantage of this fact when the two teams meet this week.
