Basketball Game Preview: Lotus School For Excellence Meteors vs. The Pinnacle Timberwolves

The Lotus School For Excellence Meteors will head out on the road to square off against The Pinnacle Timberwolves at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Lotus School For Excellence is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Addenbrooke Classical Academy on Wednesday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. Lotus School For Excellence was beaten by Addenbrooke Classical Academy 46-13. While losing is never fun, the Meteors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while the Mustangs are ranked 157th).

Meanwhile, The Pinnacle was just a bucket shy of victory last Thursday and fell 29-28 to KIPP Denver Collegiate. The loss continues a trend for the Timberwolves in their matchups with the White Tigers: they've now lost three in a row.

Lotus School For Excellence will have to contain Alexis Kohl as she made an impact in The Pinnacle's last game. She posted 11 points. That was a full 39.3% of The Pinnacle's points, marking the fourth time in a row Kohl has put up more than a third of the team's points.

The Pinnacle's defeat dropped their record down to 3-16. As for Lotus School For Excellence, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-15 record this season.
