Baseball Recap: John Carroll Comes Up Short

After flying high against Archbishop Curley on Monday, John Carroll came back down to earth. The Patriots fell just short of the Appoquinimink Jaguars by a score of 7-6 on Tuesday.

Brycen Altland was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

John Carroll has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 15-10 record this season. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Appoquinimink, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. John Carroll will venture away from home to challenge Archbishop Curley at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Appoquinimink, they will take on Sussex Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
