Baseball Recap: West Deptford Victorious

While West Deptford's win against Gloucester City wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Lions 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since May 10, 2025.

Jason Hartman was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because West Deptford is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 3-4 otherwise. Hartman was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Landon Delaney, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Nick Lamparelli, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one RBI.

The victory got West Deptford back to even at 5-5. As for Gloucester City, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-9.

Coming up, West Deptford will head out on the road to square off against Haddonfield at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Gloucester City, they will square off against Sterling at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
