Baseball Recap: Indianola Comes Up Short

Indianola lost against Wetumka back in April of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Warriors lost 11-1 to the Chieftains. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Indianola saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ford Peterson, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-2. Peterson has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played.

Indianola's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Wetumka, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 5-9 record this season.

Indianola will head out on the road to face off against Wilburton at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Wetumka, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Varnum at 2:00 p.m. The Whippets will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something the Chieftains surely won't give up without a fight.
