Baseball Recap: Mountain View Christian Academy's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

Mountain View Christian Academy's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Lake Lure Classical Academy Raptors a 9-0 shutout. The Mustangs' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Charlie Quin made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Quin was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing Two bases. while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Cash Young, who scored a run while going 1-for-1. That run was his first of the season. Kyle Smith was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

Mountain View Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .577. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Mountain View Christian Academy's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-4. As for Lake Lure Classical Academy, they dropped their record down to 0-2 with the defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.

Coincidentally, Mountain View Christian Academy and Lake Lure Classical Academy will both be playing Community Christian Academy the next time they take the field. Mountain View Christian Academy will host Community Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday, while Lake Lure Classical Academy will host them at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
