Grosse Ile and St. Mary Catholic Central are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2019, but likely not for long. The Red Devils will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Falcons/Kestrels at 4:30 p.m. Grosse Ile will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.

Caleb Jones made a splash while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run over seven innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Grosse Ile is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 7-15 otherwise. Jones was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in five of his seven plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Joe Keenan was excellent, getting on base in four of his seven plate appearances with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs he has posted over his last eight matches. Another player making a difference was Kolton Bodner, who went 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.

Meanwhile, St. Mary Catholic Central fell victim to Flat Rock and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They came up short against the Rams, falling 9-0. The Falcons/Kestrels have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

Grosse Ile pushed their record up to 10-15 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.3 runs over those games. As for St. Mary Catholic Central, their loss dropped their record down to 15-5-1.
