The Knightstown Panthers will venture away from home to challenge the Hagerstown Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Knightstown will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Knightstown's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They came out on top against Daleville by a score of 5-0.
P Pyle was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, B Johnson was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April. Jayce Herran also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Knightstown hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Daleville struck out ten times.
The home team had won the previous three meetings between Hagerstown and Wapahani, and Wapahani kept the tradition alive. The Tigers fell just short of the Raiders by a score of 12-10 on Monday. That's two games in a row now that the Tigers have lost by exactly two runs.
Jaxon Hale was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Zack Logston was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Knightstown's record now sits at 10-5. As for Hagerstown, their defeat ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 12-4.
Thursday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Knightstown hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. However, it's not like Hagerstown struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Knightstown suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Hagerstown in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Can the Panthers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
