Softball Recap: Mount Tabor's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Mount Tabor). They blew past the R.J. Reynolds Demons 20-3 on Monday. The win was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

Mount Tabor got a massive performance out of Piper Cox, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Cox a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bella Rogers, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.

Mount Tabor was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. They are 2-1 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

The victory was their first on the road, bumping their record up to 2-8. As for R.J. Reynolds, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-14.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mount Tabor will host North Forsyth at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Vikings have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 19.3 runs per game on average), something the Spartans will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for R.J. Reynolds, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Western Guilford at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
