Football Game Recap: Alta Loma Comes Up Short

After flying high against Redlands East Valley last Friday, Alta Loma came back down to earth. The Alta Loma Braves took a 14-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Los Osos Grizzlies on Friday. The Braves lost against the Grizzlies in their previous head to head back in September of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much closer than the 35-7 score last time.

Eamon Graves threw for 80 yards and a touchdown. Santiago Vasquez was his top target, picking up 60 receiving yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Derrick Knowden-Williams rushed for 66 yards on only five carries.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Los Osos to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nicolas Martinez, who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Martinez has posted since back in August of 2023. Los Osos also got a significant boost from Evan Abeln, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 80 yards.

Alta Loma now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Los Osos, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.

Alta Loma will be playing in front of their home fans against Cabrillo at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Los Osos, they are taking a road trip to square off against Corona at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
