Baseball Recap: Orange Glen Patriots vs. High Tech SD Storm

Orange Glen had lost three straight on the road, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 13-15 to make it four. They came up short against the High Tech SD Storm, falling 9-0. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Storm apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2024.

Orange Glen saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adrian Garcia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double.

As for High Tech SD, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games.

On High Tech SD's side, Neal Griswold made a splash no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave Griswold a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, High Tech SD let Brandon Martinez and Landon Carroll run wild. Martinez went 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double, while Carroll went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI. That's the most RBI Martinez has posted since back in May of 2024. Mikey Ortiz also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

As of now, neither Orange Glen nor High Tech SD have any future games scheduled.
