Volleyball Recap: Natalie Barry and Gemma Reyes Secure Win for Soquel + How To Watch

Soquel hadn't done well against Harbor recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Knights came out on top against the Pirates by a score of 3-1. For the Knights, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win the Pirates walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

The victory didn't come easy: Harbor scored at least 21 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 25-21, 21-25, 25-22.

Soquel was led to victory by Gemma Reyes and Natalie Barry. Reyes had 16 digs and two aces, while Barry had six digs and three aces. That's the most aces Reyes has posted since September 3rd.

They weren't the only good servers: Soquel was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in four consecutive contests.

Soquel now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Harbor, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Soquel will head out to square off against Scotts Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Harbor, they will face off against Santa Cruz at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Cardinals will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Pirates surely won't give up without a fight.
