Lake Charles College Prep is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They blew past Abbeville 12-2 on Tuesday. While the Trailblazers didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-23), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.

Chrisian Burgos made a splash no matter where he played. He struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off five hits (and only one walk). He has become a key player for Lake Charles College Prep: the team is undefeated when he allows at most one earned run, but 3-5 otherwise. Burgos was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs.
In other batting news, Kameron Jones and Dylan Vital did most of the damage at the plate: Jones scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3, while Vital scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. The dominant performance also gave Jones a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Justin Lartigue, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.
Lake Charles College Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, DeQuincy got the win against Rosepine on Thursday by a conclusive 9-3. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won seven matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Carson Rainwater was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched six innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
In other batting news, DeQuincy got a massive performance out of Andrew Dowden, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Hayz Hext was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Lake Charles College Prep has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. DeQuincy's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-8.
