Volleyball Game Preview: Glenbrook South Titans vs. Maine West Warriors

Glenbrook South has gone 8-1 against Maine West recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Titans will venture away from home to face off against the Warriors at 5:00 p.m. Glenbrook South will be strutting in after a victory while Maine West will be coming in after a defeat.

On Wednesday, Glenbrook South was able to grind out a solid win over Deerfield, taking the game 2-0. The Titans haven't had any issues with the Warriors recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive victory against them.

The 2-0 score doesn't show just how dominant Glenbrook South was: they took both sets by at least 11 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-13, 25-14.

Glenbrook South can attribute much of their success to Annie Rosinski, who had 22 assists and three digs, and Campbell Johnson, who had nine digs. Rosinski has been hot, having posted 16 or more assists the last seven times she's played. Reese Eggener also deserves some recognition as she posted her first assist of the season.

Meanwhile, Maine West came up short against Maine East on Thursday and fell 2-0. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Maine West ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-21.

Glenbrook South's win bumped their record up to 21-5. As for Maine West, their loss dropped their record down to 9-15.

Glenbrook South was able to grind out a solid victory over Maine West when the teams last played two weeks ago, winning 2-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Titans since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
