Softball Recap: Charleroi Gets the Win

Fans were treated to a battle of the Cougars on Thursday. Charleroi skirted past Yough 4-2. For Charleroi, this counts as revenge for the 4-3 win Yough walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2022.

The team relied heavily on Nori Stringa-Smith, who went 2-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Avery Pendo, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Charleroi kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

The victory got Charleroi back to even at 8-8. As for Yough, their loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 4-8.

As of now, neither Charleroi nor Yough have any future games scheduled.
