Baseball Recap: Harmon Starts Season with Win on the Road

Harmon had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Southeast Knights a 23-0 shutout on Tuesday.

Gibson Miller made a big impact no matter where he played. He kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over four innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single earned run, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in April of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Harmon let Chad Taylor and Eliseo Hernandez run wild. Taylor went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI, while Hernandez scored four runs and stole five bases while going 4-for-4. Another player making a difference was Jackson Williams, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances.

Harmon and Southeast will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. Harmon will face off against rival Washington at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Southeast is set to square off against their familiar foe Center at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
