Softball Recap: Thomas A. Edison Comes Up Short

Thomas A. Edison was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss dating back to last season. They took a 14-10 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Maritime Academy Charter Seadogs. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Owls of the 20-19 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Omalis Rivera made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Rivera is crushing it when it comes to RBI: she's brought in at least four every time she's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Elimar Diaz, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three RBI and one double.

Thomas A. Edison's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Maritime Academy Charter, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-3.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Thomas A. Edison will head out to challenge Little Flower Catholic for Girls at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for Maritime Academy Charter, they will venture away from home to face off against Mariana Bracetti Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
