There's no place like home for Alvin, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the Dobie Longhorns on Friday. That's more bragging rights for the Yellowjackets, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Alvin is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. Dobie's record now sits at 9-8.

Coming up, Alvin will square off against Pasadena Memorial at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. The last three games Alvin has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. As for Dobie, they will challenge Manvel at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.
