Basketball Recap: Tulia Comes Up Short

Tulia suffered their closest defeat since December 14, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Childress Bobcats by a score of 68-65. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 57-44 back in January.

Despite the loss, Tulia saw an underclassman step up: freshman CJ Parker almost dropped a double-double on 13 points and nine rebounds. Thanks to that strong game, Parker now owns an excellent 46.9% shooting accuracy. Logan Becerra was another key player, going 8 for 18 on his way to 19 points and eight boards.

Tulia has been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 16-16 record this season. As for Childress, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 16-13.

Tulia wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 61-37 defeat against Bushland on the 7th. As for Childress, they have also already played their next contest, a 36-18 victory against Canadian on the 7th.
