Basketball Game Preview: Saluda Tigers vs. Newberry Bulldogs

The Saluda Tigers and the Newberry Bulldogs will compete for holiday cheer at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Saluda is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Mid-Carolina just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Rebels by a score of 46-44. The loss was the Tigers' first of the season.

Meanwhile, Newberry was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They lost 43-22 to Mid-Carolina.

Newberry's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Saluda, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Saluda came up short against Newberry in their previous meeting back in January, falling 46-36. Can Saluda avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
