Football Game Preview: Southwest Dragons vs. South San Antonio Bobcats + Official Tickets

Southwest has gone a perfect 7-0 against South San Antonio recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Dragons will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. Southwest will come into the contest with an undefeated record on the line.

Southwest's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They really took it to Southside for the full four quarters, racking up a 33-0 win. The Dragons pushed the score to 27-0 by the end of the third, a deficit the Cardinals had little chance of recovering from.

Southwest found their leader in sophomore Aadreaz Voss, who rushed for 92 yards and two TDs. Voss showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 63 yards. Dorian Moxley also helped with two scores in total.

Southwest didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ty'Shawn Holder and Felipe Muniz. Holder got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when South San Antonio duked it out with Martin on Friday. The Bobcats took a 21-14 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Bobcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Southwest will have to keep a close watch on Anthony Mata and Ethan Segura, a pair of players who had a big impact on South San Antonio's prior game. Mata threw for 171 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Segura picked up 95 receiving yards.

Southwest's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for South San Antonio, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Southwest took their win against South San Antonio in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 32-9 score. Do the Dragons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bobcats turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
