Basketball Recap: Hanahan Drops Season-High Score on North Charleston

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Hanahan). They blew past the North Charleston Cougars 57-16 on Tuesday. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Hanahan found their leader in sophomore Bri Johnsen, who posted nine points and seven steals. Johnsen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last 30 games she's played dating back to last season. Brianna Allen was another key player, putting up eight points and five steals.

Hanahan is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-5 record this season. As for North Charleston, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-14.

Hanahan will head out to challenge Battery Creek at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Battery Creek: they have been struggling with four straight losses at home, while Hanahan has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road. As for North Charleston, they and Orangeburg-Wilkinson will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday without much rest having both just played. Orangeburg-Wilkinson will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something North Charleston surely won't give up without a fight.
