Basketball Game Preview: Pond Creek-Hunter Panthers vs. Garber Wolverines

The Pond Creek-Hunter Panthers will face off against the Garber Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Pond Creek-Hunter is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 61 points on Friday, they were much more limited against Dover on Saturday. They took a 23-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Longhorns. The matchup marked the Panthers' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Garber was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Saturday as they fell 65-60 to Drummond. The Wolverines haven't had much luck with the Bulldogs recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Pond Creek-Hunter's loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 11-7. As for Garber, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.

Pond Creek-Hunter didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Garber when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 54-50 victory.
