Baseball Game Preview: Clark Chargers vs. Rancho Rams

For the second straight game, Clark will face off against Rancho. The Chargers will challenge the Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The last three games Clark has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Clark played against Rancho on Thursday and lost via forfeit.

Johnny Ramos made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and one unearned) runs off 11 hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Rancho is 5-2 when he allows at most one walk, but 8-13 otherwise. Ramos was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Ramos wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Aiden Pineda, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run. Harry Leppelmeier was another, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one double.

Rancho pushed their record up to 13-15 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Clark, their loss dropped their record down to 21-9.
