Volleyball Recap: Piedra Vista Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Piedra Vista was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They came up short against the Rio Rancho Rams, falling 3-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Rams this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 3-0 back in October.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-15, 25-20, 25-19.

Sadie Current paced Piedra Vista's offense, picking up ten kills. Current got some help from Kinzley Verhulst and her 14 assists. Aalysa Estrada controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Rio Rancho got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Emily Griego out in front who had seven digs and two aces. Allyson Tennent was another key player, getting eight digs and three assists.

Piedra Vista's defeat dropped their record down to 7-15. As for Rio Rancho, their record now sits at 12-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Piedra Vista will square off against rival Farmington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Rio Rancho is set to challenge their familiar foe Cleveland at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
