Port Angeles and North Kitsap are an even 5-5 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Roughriders will square off against the Vikings at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.

Port Angeles fell victim to North Thurston and their airtight pitching crew on Saturday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rams. The Roughriders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, after only one run in their last matchup, North Kitsap made sure to put some runs up on the board against North Mason two weeks ago. The Vikings put the hurt on the Bulldogs with a sharp 10-0 win. Considering the Vikings have won three games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Tate Stearns made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single hit in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Noah Wendt was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Nolan Rowe also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

North Kitsap always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .629. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Mason only posted an OBP of .318.

North Kitsap is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-2-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.3 runs over those games. As for Port Angeles, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-6-2.

Port Angeles came up short against North Kitsap in their previous meeting back in April of 2024, falling 5-2. Can the Roughriders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
