Jonathan Alder had won five straight at home dating back to last season, but on Friday they bumped up to 7-0 to make it six. They came out on top against the Urbana Hillclimbers by a score of 28-21. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pioneers also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.

Cashton Wheeler had a dynamite game, rushing for 116 yards on only 15 carries, while also picking up 51 receiving yards and one TD.

As for Urbana, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 333rd, while Jonathan Alder is ranked 110th).

Urbana's loss came despite strong showings from Grady Lantz and Colton Teepe. Lantz threw for 203 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Teepe picked up 63 receiving yards and one score.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Jonathan Alder is set to square off against their familiar foe London at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Pioneers 14.3, the Red Raiders 7.6) so any points scored will be well earned. Meanwhile, Urbana will challenge rival Kenton Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
