Baseball Recap: East Central HomeSchool Patriots vs. Heritage Christian Academy Eagles

East Central HomeSchool won the last time they faced Heritage Christian Academy and things went their way on Saturday too. The Patriots had just enough and edged out the Eagles 6-4.

Andrew Barksdale made a splash no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over seven innings while giving up four earned runs off eight hits (and not a single walk). East Central HomeSchool is undefeated when Barksdale posts ten or more strikeouts, but 4-5 otherwise. Barksdale was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, East Central HomeSchool let Colin Allison and Isaac Davis run wild. Allison went 2-for-3 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI, while Davis scored two runs and stole three bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three stolen bases gave Davis a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Cade Best, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

East Central HomeSchool's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-5.
