Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Newark Memorial walked away with it. They were the clear victor by a 4-1 margin over the Kennedy Eagles on Saturday. Considering the Cougars have won ten contests by more than two goals this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

They hit Kennedy with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Daniel Macias (2), Daniel Mendoza, and Joshua Guerrero.

The win was the fifth in a row for Newark Memorial, bringing their record for this year to 13-10. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those five matchups. As for Kennedy, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.

Coming up, Newark Memorial will face off against Roseland University Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Roseland University Prep's last three games have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Kennedy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
