Softball Recap: Riverdale Comes Up Short

Bluffton hit Riverdale with a eight-run first inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Falcons fell 9-4 to the Pirates. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Kenzie Furr made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Carly Karcher, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Riverdale's loss dropped their record down to 7-9. As for Bluffton, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 6-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Riverdale will welcome Elmwood at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Bluffton, they will be playing at home against Ridgemont at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Golden Gophers have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season.
