Baseball Recap: Cypress Creek Takes a Loss

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Cypress Creek's offense. They fell 4-0 to the Memorial Mustangs on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 20 runs in the game before, the Cougars' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Mason Nichols was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off six hits (and not a single walk). The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in walks (zero).

Cypress Creek's loss dropped their record down to 4-19-1. As for Memorial, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 14 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3-1 record this season.

While Cypress Creek had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
