Softball Recap: Montabella Comes Up Short

If Montabella was riding high fresh off their 15-0 takedown of Eastern last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs lost 12-1 to the Carson City-Crystal Eagles on Monday. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Eagles recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

Montabella saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bailey Kauffman, who scored a run while going 2-for-3. Another was Katelyn Pifer, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI.

Montabella now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Carson City-Crystal, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Montabella will square off against Vestaburg at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Carson City-Crystal, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Greenville at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Yellow Jackets will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
