Basketball Recap: Rigby Drops Season-High Score on Centennial

Rigby scored the most points they've had this season on Friday, but it wasn't enough. They fell to the Centennial Patriots 79-73. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Thursday (61), the Trojans still had to take the loss.

Centennial got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Gabe Eddins out in front who went 9 of 15 en route to 19 points and five assists. Eddins is crushing it when it comes to points: he's scored at least 18 every time he's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Tobin Knudson, who went 5 of 7 on his way to 17 points.

This is the second loss in a row for Rigby and nudges their season record down to 6-3. As for Centennial, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-2.

Rigby will venture away from home to take on Thunder Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rigby knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine contests -- so hopefully Thunder Ridge likes a good challenge. As for Centennial, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against San Pedro at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday. Centennial is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 75.2 points per game this season.
