Basketball Recap: Latta Comes Up Short

Latta was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their fourth straight loss. They took a 50-32 bruising from the Fairmont Golden Tornadoes. The matchup marked the Vikings' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Landon Cummings continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Fairmont, putting up 20 points along with five boards and three steals. That's the most points Cummings has posted since back in February. Josiah Billings was another key player, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten boards.

Latta's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Fairmont, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Latta will host Carvers Bay at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Latta is facing Carvers Bay at the right time seeing as Carvers Bay is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Fairmont, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Dillon at 7:30 p.m. Fairmont will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Dillon will have lost three straight heading into Tuesday's match.
