Preview: Parkway North Vikings vs. Parkway South Patriots
The Parkway North Vikings are on the road again on Friday and plays the Parkway South Patriots at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Tuesday, Parkway North was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 47-46 to the Wildcats. Parkway North has struggled against the Wildcats recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Meanwhile, Parkway South lost to the at home by a decisive 50-33 margin on Tuesday.
Despite the loss, Parkway South got a solid performance out of Eddie Ahearn, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Ahearn hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryan Shanfeld, who scored ten points along with five rebounds.
Parkway North's loss dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Parkway South, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-10.
Everything came up roses for Parkway North against the Patriots in their previous matchup back in November of 2023 as the squad secured a 69-42 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Parkway North since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
