Football Recap: Hazelwood Central Comes Up Short

Hazelwood Central lost against Pattonville back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Hawks were dealt a 43-6 loss at the hands of the Pirates. While losing is never fun, the Hawks can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri football rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Pirates are ranked 71st).

Hazelwood Central's defeat was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Pattonville, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hazelwood Central will host Hazelwood East at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each contest than the last. As for Pattonville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Parkway West at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Longhorns' defense has only allowed 12.7 points per game this season, so the Pirates' offense will have their work cut out for them.
