Softball Recap: Immaculata Starts Season with Win Against Robbinsville

Immaculata had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Robbinsville Ravens on Wednesday, sneaking past 7-6. For the Spartans, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 win the Ravens walked away with the last time they faced one another back in May of 2023.

Maddie Falvey made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over seven innings pitched. Falvey was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one double.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Mollie Ferreira, who scored three runs while going 1-for-3. Another player making a difference was Ava Giglio, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 1-for-1.

Having lost for the first time this season, Robbinsville fell to 2-1.

Coming up, Immaculata will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against Hunterdon Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. This will be Immaculata's first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Robbinsville, they will face off against Ewing at 4:00 p.m. on April 3.
