Basketball Recap: Roscommon Takes a Loss

Roscommon had lost 12 straight on the road dating back to last season, but on Thursday they dropped down to 0-3 to make it 13. They had to suffer through a 76-42 loss at the hands of Pine River Area. Roscommon was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-21.

When it comes to explaining why Roscommon lost, don't look at Keaton Pratt. Despite the final result, he posted 20 points. The game was Pratt's sixth in a row with at least 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Jake Klemmer, who earned four points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

As for Pine River Area, the win keeps them at an undefeated 4-0. Their offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Mason Gugle had another great game (as he tends to do), dropping a double-double with 22 points and 11 boards. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 16 points per game. Carter Wien also deserves some recognition as he posted his first assists of the season.

Roscommon has already played their next matchup (against Johannesburg-Lewiston), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Pine River Area, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 81-50 victory against Brethren on the 15th.
