Baseball Recap: Rock Creek Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Win

Rock Creek took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mill Creek, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Mustangs came out on top in a nail-biter against the Bullfrogs on Monday, sneaking past 7-5. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Ryder Ribera was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two hits in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

Ribera wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Kenneth Ashby, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Ashby has posted since back in March.

Rock Creek's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-18. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games. As for Mill Creek, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-6.

Rock Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mill Creek has already played their next game (against Tishomingo), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
