Recap: Timber Lake Panthers vs. Harding County Ranchers
The Timber Lake Panthers were the 60-46 winner over the Harding County Ranchers when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. Timber Lake had to suffer through a rough 55-10 loss at the hands of Harding County. Timber Lake was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 31-8.
Harding County can attribute much of their success to Claire Verhulst, who scored ten points along with nine steals. The matchup was Verhulst's third in a row with at least ten points. Bailey Verhulst was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six rebounds and five steals.
Timber Lake's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 1-3. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 25.7 points per game. As for Harding County, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-0.
Timber Lake will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on North Central at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th. As for Harding County, they will head out on the road to face off against Hettinger/Scranton at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
