Baseball Recap: Vinton-Shellsburg's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Vinton-Shellsburg had to endure a 13-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They came out on top against the Union Knights by a score of 9-6 on Friday. The Vikings have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights, too.

The win was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 4-17. As for Union, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vinton-Shellsburg will venture away from home to face off against Center Point-Urbana at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Vikings are facing the Stormin' Pointers at the right time seeing as the Stormin' Pointers are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Union, they will head out to challenge Gladbrook-Reinbeck on Tuesday.
