Football Game Preview: Lufkin Panthers vs. Westbury Huskies + How To Watch

Two dominant backs in Kenny Waters and Jefferson Rivas Hernandez are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Lufkin Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Westbury Huskies at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

On Friday, Lufkin humbled Ball with a 52-14 victory. Given the Panthers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 215th, while the Tornadoes are ranked 780th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Westbury waltzed into their contest last Saturday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Yellowjackets 48-21. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Huskies had established a 20-point advantage.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Rivas Hernandez and Cary Clay. Rivas Hernandez had a great game and gained 179 total yards and five touchdowns. Meanwhile, Clay was balling out in the loss, rushing for 115 yards and one TD, while also throwing for 62 yards and one touchdown.

Lufkin's record now sits at 7-3. As for Westbury, their record is now 9-1.
