Preview: Bolles Bulldogs vs. Rickards Raiders
Two dominant players in Abby Knauff and Genesis Henry are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Bolles Bulldogs will take on the Rickards Raiders in a holiday battle at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday at. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Bolles scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 87-61 margin over Orange Park. The win was nothing new for Bolles as they're now sitting on five straight.
Bolles relied on the efforts of Evie Freeman, who scored 16 points along with six assists, and Presley Norman, who scored 15 points along with eight assists and four steals. The match was Freeman's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terrell McCoy, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Rickards entered their tilt with Godby with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Rickards put the hurt on Godby with a sharp 49-27 victory on Friday. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-8.
Henry continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Rickards' points. Another player making a difference was Journee Belcher, who scored seven points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Bolles' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 38 points. As for Rickards, their victory bumped their record up to 6-2.
