Football Recap: Benbrook's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

Benbrook was the 33-29 winner over Holliday when they last played one another back in September of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Bobcats took a hard 51-33 fall against the Eagles on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas football rankings (they are ranked 534th, while the Eagles are ranked 177th).

Despite the loss, Benbrook still got an impressive performance from Brennan Barton, who threw for 406 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 34 yards and a pair of scores. 91 of Barton's passing yards were hauled in by Dorien Johnson.

Having lost for the first time this season, Benbrook fell to 2-1. As for Holliday, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Benbrook wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 34-28 defeat against Eastern Hills on the 20th. As for Holliday, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-41 victory against Burkburnett on the 19th.
