Soccer Game Preview: Claremont vs. Bonita

The Claremont Wolfpack will take on the Bonita Bearcats at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Claremont's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Claremont is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Walnut on Tuesday. Claremont fell just short of Walnut by a score of 2-1. That's two games in a row now that the Wolfpack have lost by just one goal.

Meanwhile, Bonita kept a clean sheet against Diamond Bar on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Brahmas with a sharp 3-0 win. Considering the Bearcats have won four matchups by more than two goals this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Bonita's victory bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Claremont, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6-1.

Claremont came out on top in a nail-biter against Bonita in their previous matchup two weeks ago, sneaking past 1-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Claremont since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
